Overview
KROHNE Care™ is a diagnostic expert system for the ALTOSONIC V12 ultrasonic flowmeter. The web-based system translates meter diagnostics and information from condition-based monitoring (CBM) into clear, immediately usable insights. No expert knowledge is required to assess CBM results, as operators no longer need to interpret parameters such as velocity of sound, signal-to-noise ratio, or automatic gain control. Instead, the system provides clear warnings and alarms on fouling, corrosion, and other effects on meter performance – all in plain language.
Based on extensive research and operational experience, a comprehensive model has been developed that enables continuous monitoring of meter health and accuracy. It can even distinguish between different forms of contamination occurring inside the meter. This helps operators perform predictive maintenance, increasing uptime and minimising the risk of operating outside specifications. KROHNE Care™ runs 24/7 within the flowmeter’s electronics unit and can be accessed via a standard web browser, without the need to install additional software.
